As a meeting place for science and industry, academic and industrial research, and interdisciplinary and cross-functional innovations – in short: a place where innovation accelerates – PARK INNOVAARE has a great networking potential. It is a result of a strong network of leading players in their respective fields: the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI), the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW), the shareholders of innovAARE AG, and further regional partners and public institutions.

Universities

PARK INNOVAARE is a part of an outstanding network of leading universities and research and training institutes, including the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI), which is home to the largest natural sciences research center in Switzerland, and the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW), together with further universities such as ETH Zurich or the University of Basel.

Companies and technology-oriented entrepreneurs benefit from an outstanding environment with a wealth of available technology and leading experts. They have access to the expertise of thousands of specialists from the fields of accelerator technology, pharmacology, materials science, and energy research.

Numerous projects have already been identified and realized. PARK INNOVAARE acts as the contact for interested companies and facilitates cooperation between the various institutes. 

University network: FHNW

Research Partners

The Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI) and the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW) cooperate closely with several highly specialized research institutes, including the Swiss Nanoscience Institute (SNI), the Institute of Polymer Nanotechnology (INKA), the Plastics Training and Technology Center (KATZ), Empa, which have a strong focus on materials research, the FHNW School of Life Sciences, which specializes in pharmaceutical discoveries, and the Swiss Competence Center for Energy Research (SCCER). The PSI also has strong links to many accelerator technology centers throughout the world.

PARK INNOVAARE benefits from the active and undivided support of the Canton of Aargau, the communes of Villigen and Würenlingen, Cantonal institutions, and industry organizations such as the Aargau’s Chamber of Industry and Commerce (AIHK), the Aargau’s Trade Association (AGV) and others.

The cantonal economic promotion agency Aargau Services assists and advises companies with relocation, formation, financing and location questions.

Thanks to the Canton’s high-tech strategy, PARK INNOVAARE benefits from a wide network of innovation and technology transfer platforms, such as the Hightech Zentrum Aargau.

Start-ups and spin-offs in Aargau receive support from Aargau Services, the TECHNOPARK® Aargau grant-making foundation in Brugg, the Swiss Startup initiative founded by the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW), and Genilem Aargau, the development association for innovative start-ups. These institutions are an integral part of PARK INNOVAARE’s network.
