The 24th edition of the PSDI Protein Structure Determination in Industry conference took place in Malmö, Sweden, 13-15 November 2016. DECTRIS AG and leadXpro AG, both companies from PARK INNOVAARE’s innovation ecosystem, took part in the conference.

For the 24th time in a row, the Protein Structure Determination in Industry conference has pulled crystallographers from their highly competitive and frequently secretive working environments and offered them a platform for open discussion. This year over 140 delegates from all over the world registered to attend, including big players such as Bayer, Novartis, NovoNordisk, Syngenta and others.

This year, the PSDI conference included a lecture session on membrane proteins and hot structures chaired by Professor Michael Hennig, CEO of leadXpro AG, one of the biotech companies at PARK INNOVAARE. He opened the discussion with a talk on “Extension of structure based drug discovery on membrane proteins, update on recent developments and examples”.

In addition, DECTRIS AG, a spin-off of the Paul Scherrer Institute and PARK INNOVAARE’s innovation partner, was present on site with a booth. Andreas Förster, the company’s application scientist, also participated in the sessions and shared DECTRIS’ achievements using the Eiger detector.
