With innovation being the hottest topic in today’s business environment, there is no better way to welcome international students of the FHNW School of Business to Switzerland than to invite them to an innovation park. Thus, one of the stops of a welcome tour around the country was at PARK INNOVAARE’s deliveryLAB, where students could experience innovation at first hand.

Over 60 exchange students from all over Europe, Asia, Africa and South and North America began their acquaintance with Switzerland by visiting the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI), some of the world's biggest companies such as Novartis and ABB, and a visitor center Axporama. One of the stops on the busy agenda was Villigen. Keen to learn more about the country’s approach to innovation, to see for themselves how and where theoretical knowledge transforms into marketable technologies, and to understand the relationships between the world of science and the world of business, the group visited PARK INNOVAARE.

With great enthusiasm, the students followed the presentation about the site. “It has broadened my views on innovation practices and effective ways to stimulate large-scale progress” – was one student’s feedback to us. The students’ questions enriched the discussion with many interesting topics such as IP management within an innovative cluster or success factors for start-ups. Positively charged, we look forward to welcoming them back, hopefully as young entrepreneurs looking to settle their business at PARK INNOVAARE.
